A little help.

Your duration

Choose a preset or enter your own hours in Custom, including goals over 24 hours. To change a fast already in progress, open its menu and choose Adjust goal. Changing Default duration only affects future fasts.

Record color follows your chosen goal, not how long you eventually fast. Completed records appear on the day you finish.

Your timer

In Settings, Timer shows lets you choose Elapsed or Remaining across the app, widgets and live displays. Reaching your goal does not end the fast automatically.

Time format separately controls whether clock times use 12-hour, 24-hour or your system format.

Light or dark

Open Settings → Appearance and choose System, Light or Dark. The timer, records and share images follow your choice, as do supported widgets and live displays.

Widgets

On iPhone, touch and hold the Home Screen, choose Edit → Add Widget, and search for The Fast. On Android, touch and hold the Home Screen, choose Widgets, and find The Fast. Open the app once after installing it if it is not listed.

Widgets follow your current fast. Progress updates as the system allows; the record does not continuously rotate.

Live timers

On a supported iPhone, turn on Live Activities in Settings. Your timer appears on the Lock Screen and, on compatible models, Dynamic Island. On Android, turn on Live timer for an ongoing timer notification. You can turn either off in the same place.

iOS limits each Live Activity to eight hours. Open The Fast again to restore it if it expires while your fast continues.

On your wrist

The companion app lets you check progress, choose a duration for your next fast, and start or end it from your wrist. Choosing a duration on the watch does not change your phone’s default.

A paired phone running The Fast is required. Watch-face complications provide a shortcut to your timer; their appearance depends on the face you choose.

Your records

The Fast works without an account. To keep records across devices, open Settings → Account & records and sign in with the same Apple, Google or email account on each device.

Once saving is enabled, changes save automatically and cloud records are checked when you return to the app. Offline changes wait for a connection. If you linked an account in an earlier version without enabling saving, choose Save records to account.

If records need your attention, Account & records explains the choice. Your local records and conflict backups are preserved rather than silently replaced.
